Iran movie ‘Kupal’ geared up for int'l festivals

Kazem Mollaee’s 'Kupal' is set to join international cinematic events before screening in Iranian cinemas.

The director made the remarks on Sunday, adding that several applications to attend international festivals have already been sent to secretariats of such events.

The film which was also present at the latest edition of Fajr Film Festival will be shown at a later time in Iranian movie theaters, director also said, adding that the movie was cut to 100 mins as 15 minutes of the original version was carved out to speed up the movie’s rhythm and make it more jumpy.

The director also noted that his film features just a single actor.

‘Kupal’ narrates the story an MD who is also a hunter and taxidermist. On the eve of the Persian new year, Nowruz, a challenging situation transpires that changes his life path.

The main cast in “Kupal” is Levon Haftvan,  A smart dog named Sharon, also plays a key role in the movie.
